After the closing of so many businesses and many more now working from home because of COVID-19, there is still something that we all need to do, meet, meet with employees, meet with clients, etc. At the same time, we all understand that meeting in person and meeting online is not the same, there are three platforms that we have use and we would like to recommend, as maybe your choice, for the next at least three weeks of working from home.

Uber Conference

If you don’t like PINs and extra downloads, we highly recommend going with Uber Conference. This platform allows video conferencing, screen sharing, free call recording, and voice intelligence. Definitely is probably the nicest UX-UI design of all the rest of the platforms. Also, their Custom Hold Music is amazing, it is really fun waiting for the others.
Probably one of my favorite features is that you can create your own URL, so you can have your own branding. Like for example, we have a Conference Room called: uberconference.com/lifedge that makes us and our clients remember really easily where to go, no need of pins or enter or click on strange URLs.

Zoom

Probably by now really known. Zoom is not only a video conference platform, as they basically offer meetings and chats, rooms and workspace, phone systems and video webinars. Zoom also offers a FREE package that will help you out with hosting meetings up to 100 participants and unlimited 1-on-1 meetings. There are paid pricing available and other features that they offer that make Zoom a solid option for this time.

In our limited time using it, we believe it is probably the tool to use if you have more than 15 people interacting in a meeting. Just take into consideration that they only offer 40 mins limit on group meetings.

Google Hangouts (Meet)

Meet takes the headaches out of joining a video call at work. Just set up a meeting and share a link. No worrying about whether teammates, clients, or customers have the right accounts or plug-ins. With a fast, lightweight interface and smart participant management, multi-person video calls are a breeze. One thing to know is that you need a GSuite account to create meetings.

One thing we like about Google Hangouts is the ability to sync with Google Calendar and create the meeting by creating an event on Google Calendar. This feature can is explored more when you create the event (Google Chrome )and click on the location field, as there is an option to ‘Add conferencing’ that creates a Google Hangout meeting with all the information needed. It is a time saver for sure.

It supports 1-on-1 meetings or up to 250 people in a conference call. (That’s a lot of people…) We probably recommend Google Hangouts for meetings up to 15 people.

At Lifedge we help the business succeed online and this is one way to help you connect with employees, contractors or customers by recommending three excellent services. There are many more conference voice call/video platforms that you can use, to name others there is GoToMeeting, FreeConference and off course Skype.
